DID THE GOMU GOMU NO MI'S AWAKENING TRANSFORM LUFFY INTO JOYBOY?
Did the GOMU GOMU NO MI AWAKENING TRANSFORM Luffy INTO joyboy? NO,IT DID NOT. A popular opinion is that the GOMU GOMU NO MI is not real but is infact,the HITO HITO NO MI.This is not really true,HEAR ME OUT.
We all know the gum gum fruit (GOMU GOMU NO MI) is a logia and it grants its user the characteristics of rubber, we also know that logia fruits grants it users the abilities and characteristics of a specified element,examples are pica of the Donquixote pirates whose devil fruit grants him the ability to turn to and control stones,Ace of the Whitebeard pirates whose devil fruit lets him turn to fire,Crocodile of Baroque works whose devil fruit lets him turn to and manipulate sand,Admiral Akainu Sakazuki whose devil fruit lets him turn to magma or even Admiral Borsalino Kizaru whose devil fruit grants him the abilities and characteristics of light.
Some argue that Luffy's fruit is not the gum gum fruit but is infact,the human human fruit (HITO HITO NO MI,model:NIKA),but if that were so,then should Luffy have the characteristics of rubber? The answer is NO,we all know that the HITO HITO NO MI is a mythical zoan not a logia and only logias grant its users the characteristics of an element,zoans grants its users the ability to transform into a particular beast, like a bull,a deer,a lion,a tiger,a giraffe,a snake,e.t.c and mythical zoans grants its users the ability to transform into a mythical beasts like a dragon,a Buddha,a phoenix and even a nine tailed fox. So if luffy's fruit was actually a mythical zoan,why can he stretch like rubber???
What if Luffy's fruit Is a rare fruit that houses both characteristics of logia and mythical zoan, what I think is the GOMU GOMU NO MI and the HITO HITO NO MI are actually just two parts of the same coin, I mean, if Luffy's fruit was a mythical zoan,he shouldn't be able to stretch and if his was a logia he shouldn't be able to transform into Joyboy. So this leads me to the idea that the GOMU GOMU NO MI and the HITO HITO NO MI are actually just 2 parts of the same fruit. Then I would say Luffy's death activated the awakening of the human human fruit which in turn triggered the awakening of the gum gum fruit, a lot of people would argue that his death triggered the awakening of the gum gum fruit which transformed him into Joyboy, simply NO WAY, why??? We all know and expect the gum gum awakening should give Luffy the ability to turn his surroundings into rubber,but was it supposed to transform Luffy into Joyboy??? I also happen to think the awakening of the human human side of the fruit led to the awakening of the gum gum side of the fruit, WHY???. One piece fans would probably know a lot of devil fruit users who died,when they died,were their devil fruits awakened?Big NO, we all know Ace and how he died,his devil fruit was not awakened, Whitebeard's devil fruit was not awakened upon death too so why should luffy's be awakened???. We know that Kaido's mythical zoan fruit lets him transform into a dragon, Sengoku's mythical zoan lets him transform into a buddha and Marco's mythical zoan lets him transform into a phoenix,these transformations lets them turn into beasts but Luffy's transforms him into a human figure,someone who has a mind and heart of his own, and this is why it couldn't be awakened till Luffy died and his heartbeat stopped, giving Joyboy's heart the chance to beat, the gum gum side of Luffy's fruit could not be awakened, of course it couldn't, Luffy's dead !!!, another reason why Luffy could not awaken his fruit when he was alive was because he had not fulfilled the criteria for awakening his devil fruit, one of which was for the user's mind to catch up to their body and their power. Luffy had not met that criteria (of course he hadn't or he would have beat Kaido already), We also know that the One piece belonged to Joyboy 800 years back, he had to be very strong and the best of the best to be so infamous that the World Government was trying to hide what happened 800 years back,terming it the "Void Century",spooky right?,anyway Joyboy was very strong and so when the human human fruit was awakened and Luffy was transformed into Joyboy,he had met the requirements since as Joyboy, his Haki now had no limits and so he awakened the gum gum part of the fruit at the same time he had awakened the human human part of the fruit, effectively transforming into Joyboy and also taking his rubber abilities to the next level.
