Browsing One Piece Wiki

One Piece has nearly endless amounts of information that can be written here. This site contains information about all kinds of subjects in the One Piece series such as organizations, technology, characters, anyone who is involved in the series, the series' creator, culture, weapons, races, species, vehicles, and almost anything you can think of. This series also has real-world references to subjects including stories, folklore, and real events that helped Oda shape the One Piece world.

To browse the wiki, just enter the name of the subject you want to read about in the search bar at the top, or click on links to pages that interest you.

Editing

Anyone can edit pages in One Piece Wiki — even this page! Just click the edit link at the top of any page if you think it needs any improvement or new information. You do not need anything special; you do not even need to be logged in. If you want to experiment first, without the risk of "messing up" a real article, head over to the sandbox, where you can practice editing to your heart's content. To practice editing an existing page like this one, just copy and paste it from the article's edit page into the sandbox.

Note that certain important or high-traffic pages may be protected from editing by users without accounts or by non-moderators. This is done only when absolutely necessary. If you have a suggestion

Policies

One Piece Wiki has a lot of policies and guidelines that you should look at. The three most essential principles are NPOV, GFDL, and civility. What do these mean?

NPOV

NPOV, or neutral point of view, means that articles should not be biased, and should represent differing views on a subject fairly. Whether or not you like a certain character or plot development is irrelevant, you are expected to describe it factually and accurately.

GFDL

All contributions to One Piece Wiki are released under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL). This specifically ensures that One Piece Wiki will remain freely distributible in perpetuity. Please do not submit any content that is copyrighted without permission of the copyright holder (see Wikipedia:Copyright for more information).

Civility

One Piece Wiki works by cooperation, consensus, and therefore mutual respect, civility, and wikilove should be practiced universally. Please assume good faith when you disagree with someone, stay cool, and talk things over civilly. It is good practice to provide an edit summary explaining your changes so as to assist others with noticing and accepting your changes. If you find that your edits get removed or modified, wait a moment before reinstating them. First check the page history, your talk page, or the article's talk page to discuss. Style

One Piece Wiki articles should be written according to our Manual of Style. In particular, new editors should ensure that they write their articles in a One Piece Universe perspective.

Do Not Be Discouraged

If you run into conflicts in your first forays into editing, do not let it get you down. In any collaborative project there are clashes. Have a look at the writers' rules of engagement page as well as the other articles in the tutorial wing below. Use them to help you resolve the problems and learn how to become an active and productive contributor.

And if there is anything you do not understand — be it technical or social — and you are not sure where to look, just post a question at the community portal, and someone will be happy to help you.

Editing FAQ

1. I read the latest chapter and saw information that's not on the wiki. Should I add it to the page?

If the chapter is officially out, yes. However, you may be reading a chapter that was leaked online before being officially released, and we do not update the wiki with new chapter information until it officially comes out on Sundays. For more information and clarification, see our Spoiler Rules.

2. I want to make a page, but I don't have much information for it at the moment. What should I do?

The best thing you can do is create a draft page, where you can compile the information you have on a subject until there's a sufficient amount of info to put on a page. To create a draft page, create a new page and title it: User:<Your Username>/Draft Page. Alternatively, you can make a draft page in the forum by going to Forum:Draft Pages. If you aren't able to access a source that has information on the subject, ask other users (particularly active ones, content mods, and administrators) if they can access it and add the information it contains.

3. I want to contribute to the wiki but English is not my first language/I don't have a good grasp of English. Any tips?

Many wiki users are not native English speakers and come from all over the globe, and even several of our administrators have not had English as their first language. We wish to welcome anyone who can make English contributions to this wiki, regardless of their background.

If you have little understanding of English, you may be better off editing a One Piece Wiki in your native language. There are over 28 One Piece Wikis in other languages, which you can typically find at the bottom of the main page or with Google. If you can't find one in your language, you can always create one.

If you do want to contribute here, be sure to read our Manual of Style as well as Wikipedia's Manual of Style. It may be difficult learning all the rules of English with just those, but they'll give you a good start. Otherwise, just try to be aware of changes other users make to your edits and the suggestions they give you and learn from them.

4. Someone undid my edit. What should I do?

If you're not sure why your edit was undone, the best course of action is to go to the talk page of the user who undid it and ask them about it. If you are absolutely sure that your edit improved the page and did not violate any rules, you may add it back to the page with a clear explanation of your reasoning in the edit summary. You should only do this once, and if your edit is undone again, you should discuss it on the talk page of the article you edited. Whatever you do, be civil to other people, and as stated above, don't be discouraged. For more on this, see our Editing Conduct page.

5. Someone is being rude to me/another editor. What should I do?

Contact an administrator about that user's actions, and they will be dealt with appropriately.

6. I want to change the way this wiki does something. How should I do it?

Your best bet is to take it to the forum, where all wiki-wide changes are discussed. Be sure to look through past forums first, as the topic may have been discussed already and if it has, it likely means that the community is already settled on this issue (though that can always change, especially if it has been a while since the last discussion). 7. I want to post my One Piece speculation/fanfiction. Can I do it here?

Yes, you can do that in the blogs, forums (specifically the One Piece Misc and Miscellaneous forums), and Discussions. It is not allowed anywhere else here, especially not the articles. There are numerous other One Piece wikis and websites that are meant for fanfiction and general discussion, and you can find them with Google or on our main page.

What One Piece Wiki is Not

This site is intended to cover all official aspects of the One Piece franchise, and possesses multiple areas for discussion and sharing your thoughts about the series. However, there are aspects of the wiki that are sometimes misunderstood by the community, and this section is here to dispel those misunderstandings.

• One Piece Wiki is not Wikipedia. As with all fictional stories, Wikipedia covers One Piece from an out-of-universe perspective and the scope of its coverage is rather limited. Here, we cover all aspects of the One Piece world and write it in-universe as though we ourselves lived in that world, though we do also cover real-world topics relating to One Piece. While our site is formatted similarly to Wikipedia and many of our rules are similar, just because Wikipedia does something one way doesn't always mean we also do it that way.
• One Piece Wiki is not official. All of our editors and staff are merely fans of the series who document facts about it here as a hobby. No one is paid for their work, and our closest corporate affiliation is to FANDOM, Inc. which hosts our website - we have no ties to Shueisha whatsoever. While we strive for all of the information we document to be accurate, it is very possible for editors to add misinterpreted or false statements to our pages, and unless a statement is referenced to the source it comes from, it may not be wise to automatically assume it to be correct. Additionally, although we have a framework for what elements of the series are canon, this is solely to aid in how we treat different media to cover subjects, and is not an official confirmation of the canon.
• One Piece Wiki is not adherent to Viz or any other official One Piece translation. While we follow the official release schedule for manga chapters, we do not base our name spellings for One Piece subjects solely on what Viz, the official manga translator, uses. Our reasoning for this and our name translation processes are explained in detail here.
• One Piece Wiki is not a manga or anime hosting site. While we do recap the events of the series from the start to the present day in our articles, we do not host the full One Piece manga chapters or anime episodes, as copyright laws do not permit it. See here for a resource of places to read the manga and watch the anime.
• One Piece Wiki is not a host for One Piece predictions or fanfiction. As mentioned in the sections above, feel free to post that kind of stuff in the appropriate namespaces. Our articles, however, are solely meant for factual information about official One Piece content. For more explanation about our policy on speculating in articles, see here.
• One Piece Wiki is not safe for work. One Piece's content is not extremely mature compared to some other series, particularly in the anime, so it is not like you will find NSFW content everywhere you look; additionally, FANDOM has rules in place against explicit images that are stricter than those of Wikipedia's. With that said, though, there are numerous mature scenes and themes in the series, with some notably violent moments. The original Japanese anime was censored quite heavily by the first English-language anime adaptation due to the animation company's content being intended for young children. This wiki will cover these mature topics quite plainly, and we tend to prefer using images of mature scenes from the manga if the anime's adaptation is deemed to be too sanitized. Use discretion when browsing this website in a public setting.
• One Piece Wiki is not the brainchild of a few people. If you're nothing more than a reader or infrequent contributor, it may feel like the methods and construction of the wiki mainly come from our small group of administrators and moderators. In reality, that's far from the case; hundreds of editors have come and gone over the years that have played an invaluable role in adding information to our site and discussing guidelines to implement to help things run better. The role of admins and moderators here is not to establish the rules, but to enforce them after the community agrees on them. Of course, at any given time there will always be a small group of frequent editors whose experience makes them well-versed at making big edits and proposing policy changes, but a lack of experience does not mean you have nothing to offer in those discussions. Your ideas may not be supported by the rest of the community, but so long as your intentions are to contribute to the wiki, you have a place in our community just like everyone else.
• One Piece Wiki is not complete. As hard as we have worked for over a decade to document the series and the franchise around it, there is still more to do. For one thing, new content comes out nearly every week as the series is still running, meaning tons of pages have to be updated on a regular basis. Additionally, since the One Piece media landscape is so vast, there are plenty of topics that could use some more love in their coverage here or haven't been covered here at all yet. If you consume any official One Piece related media and see things that aren't mentioned here, we encourage you to help increase our coverage of it. A good way to get started in helping make this wiki more complete is to add content to pages marked as Stubs or pages with empty sections.
