Press Play is our trainee program for emerging talent who are eager to enter the game industry.
Trainee program for aspiring hit game makers
During this 6-month trainee program, full-time and paid, the selected batch of trainees will gain valuable work experience in our game teams. Working alongside our brilliant and experienced colleagues will give you a front-row seat into the game industry, develop your skills and also allow you to compliment the team with your skillset.
Currently, we run Press Play once a year. For 2024 the trainees have been selected. Stay tuned for Press Play 2025 and the application period!
Press Play in a nutshell
- Full-time, 6 months of hands-on experience in your domain and an all round intro to the mobile game industry
- Monthly salary and benefits such as lunch, commute, sports, wellbeing and culture perks on top
- Onsite at Metacore’s Helsinki office
- Guidance from your mentor and support from your team throughout the training period
The goal here is to encourage trainees to feel comfortable sharing their ideas and creative decisions on a low threshold — to add to Metacore’s culture that values autonomy and low hierarchy.

You will get a monthly salary and benefits such as lunch, commuting allowances, sports, wellbeing and culture perks on top.
We carefully designed this training program to give an all-round understanding of the mobile gaming business as well as in-depth, role-specific experience, over a 6-month period. And we believe that to make the best of this opportunity you must be able to take part full-time.
Working together as part of our experienced team and structured mentoring from your future colleagues make up the backbone of this training program. To enable this collaborative learning experience you must have the ability to live and work in Finland, mainly onsite.
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer relocation support or sponsorship for visa applications for Press Play trainee program positions. This means, to apply for this trainee program you must be able to live and work in Finland by the starting date of the program.
You have to be 18 years or older to apply for this trainee program. (If you’re not yet 18 and reading this — we are in awe of your enthusiasm and hope to cross paths again in a few years time!)
As our company language is English, your application too must be submitted in English.
After completing the trainee program, we’d be delighted to have you join us long-term if we find a position that fits your profile. However, this is something we can’t guarantee, but sure hope for.
