Can't use multiple email addresses to subscribe

Description

I have subscribed to follow multiple WordCamps with one email address (let's call it email-one@…). Now I would like to subscribe to another with a different email address (let's call it email-two@…).

When I subscribe, a confirmation email is sent to email-two@…, with a link to confirm. Clicking the confirmation link takes you to the subscription management page, logged in as email-one@…, and doesn't properly activate the subscription for email-two@…. Instead, it redirects to https://subscribe.wordpress.com/?email=email-one%40example.com&update=notactivated, with the error message "Your subscription could not be activated, it may have expired."

If I try again later to subscribe using email-two@…, I don't even get a confirmation email again.

This seems like it may be related to problems I've heard about from some WordCamp organizers, who received reports from users unable to subscribe (e.g., they never received confirmation emails).

  • Resolution set to invalid
  • Status changed from new to closed

The subscription feature is part of Jetpack, so this needs to be reported to them.
