The Star Trek Encyclopedia, 3rd ed., p. 571, notes that Chuck Yeager becomes the first Human to fly faster than the speed of sound on October 14th, 1947.

Some of the events in the Eugenics Wars novel The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh, Volume Two take place on October 1st, 1993 and October 2nd, 1994.

A clipping in Captain Picard's photo album (seen in Star Trek Generations) suggests the Federation Charter is signed on October 11th, 2161. This, however, is not considered canon as the clipping was not visible on-screen.

Many of the events in the novel Articles of the Federation take place in October 2380.
