About this game :
Shelter Alone is a prototype I started working on in January with the help of a composer, a sound designer, a mathematics enthusiast friend, and a programmer.
This prototype is released in a demo/free early access type of way to see if it has any potential.
So you are the center of this, please don't hesitate to leave a comment about your experience of the game. Remember that it is a work in progress and very far from being complete and bug-free. But it should give you a sense of the gameplay experience I want to create.
About the Art :
The art assets have been generated mostly by AI. Concerning the ethical view about this, I invite you to read the last screenshot which is a disclaimer explaining the use of the AI art. In short, they are placeholders and a real artist will re-do them in the future.

Most of the UI art has been made by the incredible Kenney and I thank him so much for his assets!
What's the plan for the future?
In the future, I want to push the roguelike aspect of the game to the next level, by adding the unlocking of new features as you survive more waves :
- New heroes
- New weapons
- New enemies
- New worlds
- New traps arborescence
- and more powers-up and item
So, depending on its success here and on social networks, I will bring "Shelter Alone" further in its development, and on Steam also.

Where did u get the assets for the game? Like did you make them? they look great!
Hey, so the title screen and the concept art are made by Francesco Crisci. For the in-game assets, I used Midjourney, however they will be replaced by the new assets made by the artist.
This gives a little bit of an idea of what it will look like in the end. 🙂
Finally, a decent use of AI art.
I appreciate a lot that you get why and how I used AI :)

The plans you have to add more variety to the game will elevate it further, especially with new maps, weapons and enemies. Loved all the different things you can build to protect the base. Also the scavenging aspect of the game was fun, the looting/recycling but once both sides of the map was looted, I felt like something was missing. It would of been cool if the loot would respawn every so and so rounds or you get random care packages from the skies etc just to have something more to do inbetween day and night cycle (Just a taught). I look forward to see what else you guys come up with, best of luck!!
I like your suggestion of the care package, we will consider adding something like that. For now, we were thinking of adding random nice travelers who would pass by during the day asking for some special resources, if you have what they want, they will give you other resources.
Once the new weapons, maps, heroes, power-ups, items, and enemies are there, the feeling of progression will last way longer and hopefully, it will feel more like a complete game.

It´s a good game, I enjoyed it so much. I Forgot to try Wave 7, so i can´t tell if it is that difficult. 🤣
