Aloalo Island and Another Aloalo Island are a set of Variant and Criterion dungeons Variant and Criterion dungeons in Final Fantasy XIV, introduced in patch 6.51 of Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker for level 90.

Story[]

Variant[]

In a seldom-traveled corner of the south sea isles lies Aloalo, an island filled with lush vegetation and teeming with vibrant wildlife. Yet the survival of this paradise hinges on a delicate natural balance which has only grown more precarious since the island's stewards departed a century ago. Answering the plea of a messenger most peculiar, you must join Matsya on a journey to restore order to Aloalo, and in the process uncover secrets long forgotten.

V&C Dungeon Finder description

Criterion[]

Inspired by your tale, Osmon rejoices as his imagination soars to heights untold. Visions of the glorious civilizations the peoples of Aloalo built take shape in his mind, populating the island with beasts imbued by esoteric magicks. Drawn into this tide of fantasy and swept to its remotest edge, you must now do battle with the mundane made legendary.

Savage[]

Osmon has completed his novel based on your adventures with an alacrity so remarkable that one might wonder if it was half written already. As you turn the pages, you cannot help but imagine yourself confronting the mighty foes of his tale. With embellishments so fabulous as to make a wandering minstrel blush, the idyllic Aloalo is transformed into a gauntlet of monsters most foul.

V&C Dungeon Finder description

Aloalo Island is one of the South Sea Isles located in the warm waters between Eorzea and Thavnair. Three different civilizations have lived here over the eras, all of which were comprised of Lalafell.

The island's first settlers arrived in the waning years of the Fourth Astral Era. When the Fifth Umbral Calamity struck and froze the seas, the entire population of the island mysteriously disappeared except for a great wooden statue of their leader, "the Speaker". Dubbed the “forgotten people” by those who came after, their mark upon Aloalo would endure.

The next group of Lalafell to arrive on the island arrived in the Fifth Astral Era. They would eventually migrate to Vylbrand in Eorzea and establish the nation of Nym. Then, in the Sixth Umbral Calamity, their Nymian descendants who survived the flood returned to Aloalo. In the Sixth Astral Era the descendants of those returnees would again travel to Vylbrand, bringing with them knowledge of arcanima to Eorzea.

A hundred years ago, Aloalo Island was abandoned for a third time thanks to the eruption of an underwater volcano endangering the locals. It has sat in abandoned silence ever since.[1]
