Birds are creatures found throughout the wastelands.
Gameplay
Birds survived the nuclear blasts of the Great War, with minor impact from radiation. The creatures are seen flying above most settlements in the Capital Wasteland, such as Megaton, the Temple of the Union, and Evergreen Mills. They can also be seen in the sky or perched on items and roads in the Mojave Wasteland.

Mentioned
Written on the bird watching list in Appalachia.
Fallout Shelter pets
Notes
- Birds remain in the air indefinitely and will never land in the Capital Wasteland but in the Commonwealth, birds will stop flying to perch on trees, power lines and various places in Diamond City such as the roof of the All Faiths Chapel.
- In the Mojave and Commonwealth, birds can be shot and killed (additionally exploding into bloody pieces in the latter) but their corpses cannot be interacted with and will disappear quickly.
- In Appalachia, Story Time Miss Nanny mentions birds during the story "Hansel and Gretel" that she will recite to the Vault Dwellers as part of a random encounter.[1]
Appearances
Birds appear in Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4, and Fallout 76.
