Mercedes Stern's journal is a paper note in the Fallout 76 update Wastelanders. It was written by Mercedes Stern.

The note can be found on a desk next to a small set of stairs in the operations section of Vault 79. The operations area becomes accessible after determining Digger's fate during Secrets Revealed. After Secrets Revealed is completed, most sections of the vault become inaccessible and this item can no longer be retrieved.

Pregnant. I'm fucking pregnant. I can't believe I let this happen. This is no place to raise a child. I'm not mother material, never have been. I haven't told anyone yet, not even the father. It will be obvious soon enough.
Being locked in the vault for almost fifteen years does strange things to people. We've all retreated into our own sections of the vault. We barely speak. I'm the opposite of a social butterfly, but I found myself finding excuses to visit everyone once in a while just to hear another human's voice. AC is never going to let us out of here. We're going to die in this place.
