Hello!

I’m Dave and this is (as you’ve probably guessed) my blog. No, I won’t explain what espresso coco means.

I like reviewing books, movies and gadgets. I’m an occasional writer, photographer, coffee-lover, cyclist, and stationery geek. Browncoat and Howler. Busy chap.

I set up this blog to talk about any and all of the above. You can also find me on flickr, twitter, facebook and other places around the internet.

On the subject of reviews – I’m currently NOT accepting  review requests. I’ve got a ridiculous backlog of books which I want to read. It’s not you, it’s me. Probably.

If you’ve got this far, you’re probably thinking about asking me to review something. Thanks! I love reviewing things.

When it comes to books, there are a couple of things that I probably ought to point out first.

• My TBR pile (is ‘pile’ the right word? I quite like tsundoku) is already spiralling out of control. I blame Amazon’s 99p kindle bargains. I cannot resist a bargain.

• I’m very fortunate to get a fair few review requests, though they’re often like buses and turn up in bunches. I also buy a *lot* of books (see above). If you don’t hear back from me then I’m really sorry I can’t accept your book to review at this time. It’s not you, it’s me. Honest.

• My reviews are always honest. Free/advance copies of a book are very lovely, but do not automatically guarantee a glowing review. If your book didn’t work out for me, chances are it won’t get a review. If I like a book, I’m completely all over it, and will jabber on at length about it to anyone who will listen, be it online or not.

• I cross-post my reviews to Amazon and Goodreads, and share them here and on Twitter and Facebook. Or down the pub. Or coffee shop. I’ll probably not approach strangers though unless your book is astonishingly good. 🙂

I love books. Long books, short books, ebooks, paperbacks, audiobooks. Whilst I’ve reviewed a lot of crime books, I also love sci-fi, fantasy and pretty much everything else. So long as it’s good. Make it good.
