Beetles Template?[edit]

When the article is moved to the mainspace would it go under "Fictionalised Beatles" or "Inspired by Beatles" in the Beetles template? Questions? four Olifanofmrtennant (she/her) 18:54, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Are you referring to Template:The Beatles filmography and videography? Going off descriptions in The Beatles in film §§ Fictionalised Beatles and Inspired by the Beatles (fictionalised: The Beatles (and the individual members) have been portrayed onscreen numerous times, through film and television. Below is a list of films and television programmes that have portrayed the Beatles. Inspired: Several fictional films not depicting the Beatles have been entirely based on Beatles themes and songs) it definitely fits "fictionalised" best. • Verified that the article is long enough, that there are no plagiarism concerns through the Copyvios tool and spotchecking, and that the hook is sourced in the article. Cunard (talk) 01:48, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    • Great work on the article! I verified the first two hooks through this article, which says:

Later in that episode, there’s a great gag for film students: “I thought that was non-diegetic…”

Oh, thank you. Thank you for getting that joke because, there are plenty of people on the production team I had to explain that too. (laughs) And then you get people who don’t understand the joke and they go, “Can we cut it?”

I verified the third hook through this article, which says: "It isn’t a full continuity-chucking “reboot” of the Whoniverse – the events of An Unearthly Child in 1963 got a specific call-out ..." Cunard (talk) 01:48, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrectly reverted[edit]

When I put that Maestro was a drag queen, it was reverted with the comment that the actor was a drag queen but the character was not. This is incorrect. When the piano teacher uses female pronouns for Maestro, Maestro corrects him, using they/them, and Henry says they are his father. WordwizardW (talk) 13:13, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You would need to cite a reliable source stating that.
Also, see drag queen, ie being a drag queen is like being an actor or chef or fire fighter, etc. DonQuixote (talk) 15:42, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Doesn't "Being a trans feminine performer who's known as a drag queen, it's like they wanted me to feel comfortable and well-represented in all of the costumes." in https://www.bbc.com/news/newsbeat-68983502 do that? Plus the character clearly looks like a drag queen. WordwizardW (talk) 07:39, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's clarifying that Monsoon is a drag queen, not the character. And "clearly looks like" is just WP:OR. -- Alex_21 TALK 07:40, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, that's clarifying that the costumes are of a drag queen. WordwizardW (talk) 22:31, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You would need a direct quote that says something like 'The Maestro is a drag queen' so that it's unambiguous. DonQuixote (talk) 12:04, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Will get to this in the coming days. Has one ever considered Magneton? Pokelego999 (talk) 23:06, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@OlifanofmrTennant and @TheDoctorWho

Six GA Criteria[edit]

1. Article is mostly well-written. Numerous confusing wordings, but overall fine.

2. No OR, all of the info is cited in the article.

3. Coverage is broad in depth and focus. Shows multiple aspects of the episode.

4. Article appears neutral, and does not appear to hold a significantly negative nor positive stance on the subject.

5. Article appears stable. Does not appear to have had any major vandalism occur.

6. Article uses one fair use image with proper rationale.

Lead[edit]

-Looks good, though I'd say specify the iPlayer and Disney+ releases (per other Series 14 articles like Boom.)

Plot[edit]

-Paul McCartney is hyper-linked twice in the second paragraph.

-This is three words over the 400 word limit for plot summaries. I'd see if you can't cut one of the minor details somewhere (Such as the floating notes.)

-The Continuity section feels very CRUFTy. It might be better to shift the info on Susan to "Development" given that this reference is more relevant to the overall series arc than it is to The Devil's Chord specifically

Production[edit]

-Looks good

Broadcast and reception[edit]

-Why is Total Film in a paragraph by itself? Either bulk up that paragraph or merge it with the one below.

-The Reception itself is a bit flimsy. I understand episode coverage is a bit iffy this season, and this already meets the minimum amount needed for GA, but if possible I'd suggest adding more reviews if you can.

-I recall there was some controversy with the Beatles actors a while back. This is not a requirement, but if this has significant coverage, it might be worth covering in the episode's Reception. Feel free to disregard this either way, of course.

Overall[edit]

-Article looks mostly fine. Patch up the above and let me know if you have additional questions or need clarification on anything. Has one ever considered Magneton? Pokelego999 (talk) 00:46, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As co-nom, I took care of the comments on the plot section. I'll leave the rest for Oli. TheDoctorWho (talk) 05:35, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Pokelego999: I Cant find anything on the supposed controversy. I addressed the rest of the concerns. Questions? four Olifanofmrtennant (she/her) 19:25, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@OlifanofmrTennant looks good. If there was nothing on the Beatles thing, then it wasn't as much of a big deal as I thought. I did just want to make sure in any case, so thank you for checking regardless. One last thing, if it isn't too much, but would it be possible to reference Susan's role in the finale in the paragraph discussing her? Given its overarching importance in the narrative, I feel it makes sense to have and may aid readers with the added context. Has one ever considered Magneton? Pokelego999 (talk) 19:30, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Done. I didn't go into too much detail, but it should be enough to provide context. TheDoctorWho (talk) 20:08, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@TheDoctorWho Ah, I meant the section in "Development," but the additions there are welcome as well. Has one ever considered Magneton? Pokelego999 (talk) 22:48, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, just to clarify from my end: Susan Foreman didn't have a role in the finale, bar a bare mention similar to what we have in this episode? That's why my mind went to the paragraph about Twist/Triad. The Doctor wasn't even aware that Triad's first name was Susan until the finale at which point he made the connection that it (may) have been Foreman. I don't really see how the mentions of Foreman affected the overarching narrative in relation to Triad? I'd be glad to add it, I'm just not quite sure what you're looking for to be added? TheDoctorWho (talk) 05:18, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@TheDoctorWho the references are used in The Legend of Ruby Sunday in order to trick the Doctor in-universe. My main suggestion would be something like "Susan's name is later used by the antagonist Sutekh in order to trick the Doctor in the series finale episodes..." but if you feel it's for the best not to include it, then that is fine as well. Has one ever considered Magneton? Pokelego999 (talk) 19:22, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Done Added a brief mention, again I didn't go into as much detail since it's not as relevant here as it is in the finale. TheDoctorWho (talk) 04:06, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@TheDoctorWho should be good to go. Happy to pass. Has one ever considered Magneton? Pokelego999 (talk) 04:31, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
