Non-tactical formation[edit]
The ships in the example are in more of a "parade formation", than something with any tactical utility (at least for a fleet of carriers!). It would be better to demonstrate a real example, and discuss the tactical merits of the formation in terms of protection, control, arcs of fire, etc. —Michael Z. 2006-10-27 17:48 Z
- Agreed, It's a bit silly to have a picture as an example telling the reader what isn't a tactical formation. Sam Dufus (talk) 05:05, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
- Fixed, replace with a picture used lower down on the Macedonian phalanx page. Sam Dufus (talk) 05:35, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
