Your beloved cat has been missing for a few days. You suspect she's run off into the woods across the street, a bad habit she does whenever she manages to get a paw out the door behind your back. The forest wasn't known to be dangerous, quite peaceful in fact, but her being an indoor pet has you worried regardless.
Though being an indoor person yourself, you wound up wandering far deeper than you intended. Lucky for you a kind (but odd-looking) stranger stumbled upon you before anything bad happened.
...Let's hope he only has good intentions in bringing you home.
WARNING! The game has NO NSFW/18+ content, however due to darker themes associated with the yandere genre, the game is rated 16+ from now on. Player discretion is advised.

NOTICE: Apparently there's a bug regarding the gender of your cat; there might be some weird jargon that shows up in Day 2 (so far it happens to the female counterpart?) I'm not a coding expert and the way I did it is perhaps outdated, but I'll look for a fix in the future!
It might help to go to %appdata% > Renpy folder > deleting the Mushroom Oasis folder as it gives the game a fresh start. I did it everytime during testing, and have completely avoided the issue. Hope it helps!
NOTE FOR RUSSIAN VERSION: While the main menu will be in English, you can set the language to Russian in Preferences! 🇷🇺

This is such a cute game! The art is adorable and it reminds me of DDL but with a cuter cottage core vibe. For this to only be a demo it's amazing and I hope this will be published outside of Itch one day so even more people can play it! :D

I just wanna say i absolutely LOVED!!!!!! this! It was so quite yet mysterious and I'm just obsessed. Although i did have a slight jumpscare when you had to choose on going along or not and he suddenly stepped closer... I'm weak.
Anyway! I love this and I'm definitely looking forward to a new release! Beautiful artwork too <3
This game is so cute I could cry ;u; . The main character is too adorable. I'm willingly ignoring all red flags. I'll voluntarily stay. PLS give me the option to tell him he's cute, he needs it! I cannot wait to see any updates you have :) I LOVE this game!

The art is gorgeous. I loved all the details from the knitting, to the food, to all the features in Day 2 (especially Sunny). His personality and behavior are such an interesting dichotomy, with him being super sweet and his yandere moments borne from loneliness. I can't wait to see how the story plays out! :)

Боже... Это прекрасно, мне очень понравилась игра, я расплакалась на второй концовке "ты монстр"... Ну прям не знаю, изначально я прошла на "спокойный сон" потом на развитие сюжета, после чего решила погуглить какие еще есть концовки после чего как раз прошла на концовку "долго и счастливо" потому что я не хотела ранить Майкла, только после этого я в конце концов атаковала его после чего заплакала от того как мне было грустно... Но игра все равно прекрасна, я очень жду обновлений.

I really loved this visual novel; a good love interest really makes or breaks romances, and I find well written yanderes sorely lacking and yanderes of my preferred type are even rarer, my type being sweet, a bit desperate, and somewhat manipulative. I'll be patiently anticipating the announcement of the game's full release and doing regular check ins on the dev's tumblr in the intervening time. :D

GOOD GODS THIS GAME IS SO GOOD. i love mychael sm y'all, his character is so interesting, like GO BBY MANIPULATE US IDK, and i love how simple yet complex he is in general. the 'you monster' ending got me clutching the spot above my heart like nah what have i done 😭 and the ending with mc's shadow or imprint next to their cat nearly got me tearing up.
the pacing was, imo, perfect. especially on the neutral ending, we get to see mc slowly build their trust and sympathy (even pity) towards him. and seeing how mychael reacts to this is also perfect. i mean, being isolated for, perhaps, years + his past lore that indicates previous interactions with his own kind/humans, developing an obssession towards someone who's shown you decency was portayed amazingly. like he even goes as far as to manipulate mc using his powers, just to make them stay.
idrk how to put my thoughts to words (eng isn't my first language 😭) but like he despises himself for seeing, being the monster that he sees himself as, but in order to make mc stay (the only one that sees him beyond his 'monstrous' self) he'd go as far as being the monster he believes he is (given that he's aware of what he's doing, as mentioned in the game).
+ the usage of the font and the font color for adding effect to the gamem urgh i love it.
+THE PART WHERE THE CHOICES WERE JUST NOT CHOICES?? ANYMROE?? LMAO?? like that part where it just turns purple and the game ultimately decides it for you?? immaculate.
+ the character movements/the cup. i love it, fomr the tiny ones (him leaning slightly forward) to the big ones (mf fr jumps at you). and the perpective of the cup, idk, it just makes the game more immersive.
i can't wait to see more of this! thank you for the hard work you've done!

Hi! To fix your problem after you first try to open it normally and it says "cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified," then click cancel. After you do that, click control and on the download, then select open and it should work!

I have never cried before playing a novel game BUT THIS. THIS WAS THE FIRST I ACTUALLY FELT BAD AND BALLED MY EYES OUT :(( Ending 2 was heart breaking, I hope when the full game comes out there is a good ending!
Hello, I've heard so much about this game and how good the demo is itself. I really want to play it, however, I seem to have an issue installing it on the itch app. I downloaded the app because I did not know how to install it otherwise, but every time I click "install" for this game, the message "no compatible downloads were found," pops up. I've checked back after a few days and it still says the same. Is there anything I could possibly do? I really want to play this... Thank you,

Hi! Apparently it's a common issue for some games when downloading using the itch app to have that error. Some users mention it works when downloading directly from the website, so maybe you can try that and let me know how it goes?
