Meet our second pairing of Vice Presidents for the Eurocities Shadow Commission! Nathalie Appéré from Rennes and Matteo Lepore from Bologna are our Shadow Commissioners for the #JustTransition. These city leaders are at the forefront of driving ambitious #climate actions. They are committed to raising the ambition for the European Pillar of #SocialRights to make it a powerful motor for the just transition, aiming for at least a 90% net reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2040. Their focus is also on ensuring that EU legislation and funding enhance access to essential services such as energy, transport, and housing. This is crucial not only for meeting climate-neutrality objectives but also for improving people’s living conditions across Europe.
