Welcome to a subtle horror experience. Where the atmosphere and setting immerse the player in a different level of terror, the void.
"Hill Maniac" is a game of horror in the style (Found Footage), with a graphic image simulating an old camcorder of VHS tapes. We seek to put subtle elements of terror, without exaggerated jumpscares at all times.
SYNOPSIS:
Reporter Martin Rilley wants to leverage his career and needs a good story. He decides to go to the cabin of one of the biggest serial killers of the 80s, which is on top of a hill.
The killer became known as "Hill Maniac", he kidnapped children, tortured and killed. He was never found by the police and remains at large to this day.
Footage of the location would be unheard of...

Camera: First Person.
Control: Mouse and Keyboard only.
Graphics: Inspired by old VHS camera footage.
Duration: A short horror experience (10 to 20 minutes).

Wer mit den Spielen von 616 vertraut ist, darf hier keine Innovation erwarten. Es werden alle klischees des Trash horror erfüllt wobei das ein oder andere Rätsel leider etwas verzwickt war. Man bekommt Hinweise an die man sich später wieder erinnern sollte auch wenn man zwischendurch bereits alles 2-3 mal überprüft hat.
Leider ist auch hier wieder der Leitsatz: Laut = gruselig - nur eben auch wirklich extrem vorhersehbar und teilweise sogar in der Vorschau vorweggenommen?

I just realized.. In my recordings I put HILLTOP instead of Hill. I'm a bit drunk ain't I? LOL. Loved the game. This one had me scared completely, and yearning for more puzzles.

This game genuinely did have me on the edge of my seat. I did get stuck at some point but managed to figure out what I needed to do. An other great game by 616 games.

Personally I struggle at puzzles or finding codes but outside of that I loved it.
