The SE-14r light repeating blaster, sometimes referred to as the Imperial repeating pistol, was an alternate model of BlasTech Industries' SR combat pistol with fully automatic capabilities. Manufactured specifically for the Galactic Empire, it was carried as a sidearm by some Imperial officers and stormtrooper commanders.[2]

Description[]

The SE-14r light repeating blaster was an alternate model of the semi-automatic SR combat pistol used by the Separatist Droid Army at the height of the Clone Wars with fully automatic capabilities,[1] combining the portability and ease of use of a blaster pistol with a high rate of fire. However, this made it more likely to run out of ammo during an extended firefight or series of engagements,[2] and overheating stemming from prolonged discharges of the weapon could warp the SE-14r's barrel, causing potentially catastrophic malfunctions.[1]

History[]

Although BlasTech Industries created the SE-14r specifically for the Imperial Military, some found their way onto the black market, where they fetched a high price.[2] BlasTech later introduced the SE-14C blaster pistol, which addressed the SE-14r's heat-management issues by integrating the power pack into the back of the barrel.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Despite never actually appearing in the film, the SE-14r was seen in publicity photos of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.[source?]

In the PlayStation 2 versions of the Star Wars: Battlefront[3] and Star Wars: Battlefront II, some Imperial units carried the SE-14r as a sidearm, while it was replaced by the scout trooper blaster pistol in the PC and Xbox versions as well as the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection remasters.[4]

In Star Wars: Empire at War[5] and its expansion, Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption, oversized SE-14rs were carried by stormtroopers in urban, forest, swamp, and temperate environments, and by Imperial Field Commanders and scout troopers in all environments.[6]

The real life base gun for this was made from a Rexim Favor SMG and a 4x18 rifle scope (Ordinance Optics Inc.) was added on top. For Dr. Evazan's blaster a Model 7 Original 4x20 scope was added.
