D3-LOM was a protocol droid who worked for an Ugnaught construction guild on the planet Bespin during the Galactic Civil War between the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire. The droid served as a translator for the guild's chief foreman in Cloud City, Xoff Ix, who only spoke Ugnaught. When a group of spacers visited Ix to try and acquire schematics of Cloud City for use planning a heist, D3-LOM translated for the group, rephrasing many of the foreman's rude replies or questions to be more polite. The group successfully acquired a replica of the plans for a payment of 500. At the time of the meeting D3-LOM was creaky and in need of an oil bath.^[1]

D3-LOM first appeared in The Jewel of Yavin, an adventure module released in 2014 by Fantasy Flight Games for Star Wars: Edge of the Empire. This article makes no assumption as to how players acquired the schematics, but it does assume they were successful in doing do.
