Yes, you will get your 100 free pulls in Zenless Zone Zero, but you’ve got to put in the work

Don't worry, those pulls are all yours.

Some Zenless Zone Zero players are logging into the game and discovering that they can’t instantly access the 100 free pulls they were promised before its release. There really is no need to worry, though, because these pulls are all yours if you just put in the work to get them.

Developer miHoYo ran a Zenless Zone Zero promotion before its release that offered players 100 free pulls. This reward was offered with the only requirement being that you pre-registered. All you need to do is download it and play, and the 100 free pulls are yours. Well, that’s not entirely the case, as many players found out in the hours after the game’s servers went live. But there’s no need to panic because the pulls aren’t going anywhere. You just have to play to get them.

Just play Zenless Zone Zero, and you’ll get your 100 free pulls

To get your 100 free pulls in Zenless Zone Zero, you’ve got to complete a specific set of in-game events. These aren’t challenges or time-gated, they’re a level of progression you must meet in order to unlock the 100 free pulls you’ve been promised. I’ve outlined all these requirements below so there’s no confusion.

  • Complete the game’s tutorial to access your Mail, where you claim rewards.
  • Claim your pre-registration rewards from your Mail.
  • Play Zenless Zone Zero until you unlock events, progressing until around Inter-Knot level 10 to get as many of these rewards from events as possible.

Your 100 pulls consist of 70 Master Tapes, 20 Encrypted Master Tapes, and 1,600 Polychrome. With these, you’ll be able to buy Master Tapes and standard or event banner pulls. This is how you get new and better rolls for characters in the game.

These rewards aren’t simply handed to you, I’m afraid. Instead, you’ve got to keep playing and completing objectives, which is how the game drip-feeds them to you. Some of the “events,” which are in-game quests or missions, won’t unlock until the end of July.

This means you’ve got to keep playing and logging in daily to pick up rewards, drive up the concurrent player count, and get everything you’re owed for pre-registering. Considering these rewards are free, being asked to play to pick them up is hardly that much of a chore.

With this in mind, I recommend you hold off on pulling from too many banners in Zenless Zone Zero until you’ve grabbed all of these free pulls. You don’t know what you’ll unlock from daily logins and as rewards for progressing the story, so play for the rest of the month and then reroll a few Agents when you’ve got a glut of Master Tapes at your disposal.
