Where to find Mandrake Root in Hades 2

Angry little guy, huh?

If you’re working through several runs of Hades 2 to complete certain objectives, you should get whatever resources you can along the way. You may need certain tools to get them, but snagging these resources is invaluable and will save you a ton of time later on. One such resource can be tough to get, depending on how much time you’ve spent on the surface. Here’s where to find Mandrake Root in Hades 2.

Mandrake Root is found within the Rift of Thessaly region, located on the surface. If you have yet to access this location, you’ll want to access the surface using the appropriate Incantations, then progress past the first region until you reach the Rift of Thessaly. Once there, progress until the Sandy Lifespring Incantation is unlocked, then use the appropriate resources to unlock it.

For the runs after that, bring your Shovel along and progress to the Rift of Thessaly. Thanks to the linear nature of the region, you’ll eventually come upon a Location comprised of a ship crashed into an island. This island can have dig spots that, when dug, will reveal Mandrake Seeds. With them in hand, simply return to the Crossroads and plant them, then wait a few Whiles for them to grow. Once picked, you’ll have Mandrake Root.

What is Mandrake Root used for?

While there aren’t many uses for Mandrake Root yet, it can be used towards upgrading Arcana cards such as the Origination Arcana card, which buffs damage dealt to enemies afflicted by at least two Curse effects. It can also be used in an Incantation relating to the surface, alongside a Shovel upgrade. If you get more, it’s safe to be sold for Bones at the Wretched Broker.
