The Great Fairies of Tears of the Kingdom are located near stables. Visiting them allows Link to improve his clothing. Getting the four fairies to make an appearance should be a top priority, as stronger armor equals a lower chance of Link getting killed in one hit.
One of the Great Fairies is Cotera, and to get her to come out of her flower, players need to find a drummer first as part of the Sound of a Drum quest. The following guide will show you the Sound of a Drum Great Fairy’s location and directions in Tears of the Kingdom.
Great Fairy Cotera’s Location and Directions
Great Fairy Cotera can be found at the end of Little Twin Bridge in West Necluda. This is not too far from the Duelling Peaks stable which lies in the shadow of the mountains of the same name. The easiest way to get there is to simply teleport to Eshos Shrine on the northern Duelling Peak. Alternatively, launch from Sahasra Slow Skyview Tower and paraglide south.
These are the coordinates of Great Fairy Cotera: 1766, -2172, 0013. Upon getting there, Link will discover that the fairy will not leave her flower until she hears the drummer from a musical group called the Stable Trotters. Fortunately, this can be done with ease.
How to Get Great Fairy Cotera Out of Her Flower
The drummer can be found near Lake Siela’s waterfall. To get there, travel north from Duelling Peaks stable, then take the first right turn and continue until you hear the sound of the drummer. This isn’t the end of Link’s work because he learns that the drummer needs honey before he will return to his band.
Fortunately, it isn’t too hard to find honey. Courser Bee Honey is typically found in forests. The nearest forest is Bubinga Forest. Be careful when collecting honey, because bees will attack Link. After giving honey to the drummer, he will go back to the Stable Trotters.
The last thing Link needs to do is transport the Stable Trotters to the Great Fairy. There is a small stream in the way, so you’ll have to build a contraption to ferry the band members across the water. There are plenty of Zonai parts around, and this makes the job a tad more manageable. Once the band has reached Great Fairy Cotera, she will finally come out!
The Great Fairies help get Link ready for some of the harder enemies by enhancing his armor. Enhancing full sets sometimes unlocks additional perks. Keep a lookout for the Stable Trotters, as getting the band back together will unlock more fairies around Hyrule.
