Is Alhaitham good in Genshin Impact?

Alhaitham is a powerful DPS character in Genshin Impact, but is he worth pulling for your account? Here’s a breakdown of Alhaitham’s pros and cons, as well as a dive into his Constellations and weapon value.

How good is Alhaitham in Genshin Impact?

In terms of raw strength, Alhaitham is one of the strongest characters in Genshin Impact. If you are looking for an on-field Dendro DPS unit, or just a strong character to carry your team through the Spiral Abyss, Alhaitham will serve you well.

That said, no one is a must-pull in Genshin Impact. Alhaitham may be capable of great damage, but there are plenty of other damage dealers you can choose from. Even if they’re not as strong as Alhaitham, most of them are still capable of taking on the hardest content in Genshin Impact.

Whether you should pull for Alhaitham depends on what other characters you have. If you already have several on-field DPS characters, your teams may benefit more from an off-field character of some sort. If you don’t like using Electro characters, then you might not like Alhaitham’s best teams.

You should also try out Alhaitham’s combos during his character trial. His playstyle can be a bit technical, and there’s little room for error when executing his best combos. You may need to practice a bit, but you’ll be rewarded with very quick clears of difficult content.

Are Alhaitham Constellations worth it?

No, Alhaitham is already strong at Constellation 0. His Constellations offer various buffs for himself and his team, but they’re a mixed bag when it comes to being worth it. If you do spring for Alhaitham’s Constellations, I recommend stopping at Constellation 2.

Alhaitham’s Constellation 1 doesn’t impact his gameplay very much. It can give you some flexibility in case your combo is interrupted, but in most scenarios, you won’t see its effects.

Constellation 2 gives Alhaitham an Elemental Mastery buff when he generates a Chisel-Light Mirror. Since his kit revolves around generating mirrors, this Constellation is a decent increase to his damage output.

Constellation 3 adds three Talent levels to Alhaitham’s Skill. While his Skill is a large source of Alhaitham’s damage, Talent levels aren’t as impactful as they are for other characters. Constellation 3 ends up being a smaller boost than Constellation 2.

Is Alhaitham’s weapon worth it?

Alhaitham’s signature weapon, Light of Folar Incision, is generally not worth pulling for. There are several other 5-star Swords that perform similarly, including Primordial Jade Cutter, Uraku Misugiri, Mistsplitter Reforged, and Haran Geppaku Futsu. If you have a spare of any of these weapons, then I recommend using that instead of pulling for Alhaitham’s signature.

If you consistently buy the Battle Pass, then Wolf-Fang is a good 4-star Sword for Alhaitham. With Refinements, it’s competitive with some of the 5-stars above.

Alhaitham’s best free-to-play weapons are Toukabou Shigure, Iron Sting, and Harbinger of Dawn. You should only consider pulling for Alhaitham’s signature if you don’t like the prospect of using these. Even then, spending $10-50 on Battle Passes might be more cost-efficient than gambling on the weapon banner.
