Palworld: How to use the Pal Condenser

Sacrificing Pals for stat boosts

If you’re looking to get stronger Pals or ones more suited for base work, one way you can get them is by using the Pal Condenser. Pals can be sacrificed in order to beef up your favorites, and you can even create Pals with level 5 base skills this way.

The Pal Condenser is unlocked via the Technology Ladder at level 14. You’ll need Ancient Technology Points in order to unlock it, which you can get by defeating Alpha Pals or Tower Boss Duos. It’s a pretty sizable item to put on your base, so make sure you’ve got plenty of room!

To build a Pal Condenser, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 20 Paldium Fragments
  • 20 Ingots
  • 5 Ancient Civilization Parts

What does the Pal Condenser do?

Once you’ve built the Condenser, interacting with it will allow you to sacrifice some Pals in order to improve the stats of another ‘base Pal’ of the same species. Each ‘boost level’ is indicated by a blue star displayed on the Pals profile, and the maximum number of stars a Pal can have is currently four.

Boosting a Pal also increases the effectiveness of its Partner Skill, and once you’ve boosted a pal to the maximum level of four stars, their Work Suitability stats will increase by one.

This means that if you’ve got a Pal with a level 4 in any work suitability, for instance, Anubis with his level 4 Handiwork skill, once you’ve sacrificed enough Pals, you’ll have an Anubis with level 5 Handiwork. If you thought he was quick at level 4, you’ve got a shock incoming.

How many Pals need sacrificing for each boost?

Each boost level requires a certain number of Pals that must be sacrificed. This is relatively easy to do for low-level Pals such as Lamball or Lifmunk, but once you’re beginning to look at higher-level Pals, such as those who currently have a level 4 work suitability skill or Fusion Pals, you’re only really going to be able to gather this many by breeding, so you’re going to need a lot of Cake!

Each level essentially doubles the number of Pals needed, and to get a Pal to four stars, you’ll need a total of 116 of the same Pal:

1 Star44
2 Stars1620
3 Stars3252
4 Stars64116

Things to consider

If you’re looking to transfer Active Skills of Passive Traits, condensing is not the way to do it. Active Skills are set to specific Pals or otherwise learned by using Skill Fruits, while Passive Traits can only be passed on via Breeding. If you want a strong Pal with specific Passive Traits, you’ll need to breed your perfect Pal first and then use it as the ‘base Pal’ when condensing in order to preserve those Traits.

The biggest and most important thing to remember when condensing is that once you’ve sacrificed a Pal, you will never be able to get that specific Pal back. Essentially, when you put a Pal into the Condenser as a sacrifice, it’s disintegrated, and then its essence is pushed into the ‘base Pal’; there’s currently no way to rebuild a disintegrated Pal.
