Kingdom Hearts on Steam

Kingdom Hearts games make Steam debut on June 13

That should tide you over for a while.

The Kingdom Hearts games previously made their way to PC via the Epic Games Store, and now it’s Steam’s turn. Square Enix announced plans to dump a bucketload of intertwining lore on Steam, with three separate titles and a comprehensive bundle launching on June 13, 2024.

Titles on the way to Steam include Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and Kingdom Hearts III + ReMind DLC. All of those compilations can also be snagged together in the Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece bundle, which comes in way above the legal limit of Kingdom Hearts content.

If you’re new to Kingdom Hearts, or if you understandably just need a refresher on what these individual releases include, here’s a breakdown. Naturally, you’ll want to start at the beginning with:

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX

The saga starts here, with four games and two collections of remastered HD cutscenes. The games are Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX. When you’re ready to sit back with some popcorn and a story-tracking notebook by your side, you can watch more cinematics in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded.

A pair of games and an HD movie bridge the gap between the first collection and Kingdom Hearts III. This release packs Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD with Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage-, which takes players directly into the third entry. For an even deeper dive into the timeline and more info on the Foretellers, you’ll need to check out the included KINGDOM HEARTS χ Back Cover movie.

The final piece of the puzzle (for now) is contained here. In addition to the main Kingdom Hearts III game, this one comes with the ReMind DLC that followed, introducing new features, some challenging boss fights, and more.

Amazingly, the Kingdom Hearts series has been kicking around crossovers that previously seemed improbable for over 20 years. In that time it’s established a sprawling saga of its own, and more people getting a chance to experience it all is definitely a good thing. Just don’t let any negative word of mouth sour you on Goofy and Donald. They’re your FRIENDS and you need to trust them to make good decisions, okay?
