Is there PvP in The First Descendant?

Two Bunny's running in a circle around each other would be funny to watch.

The First Descendant has been out for a few days, letting people properly dive into the game and experience some of the game’s Descendants, and all the weapons, and explore the game’s various maps.

There’s a lot to chew into if you jive with the core gameplay, though you may also be itching to test your skills against more than AI opponents. Here’s whether there’s PvP in The First Descendant.

Can you fight other players in The First Descendant?

As of writing, there is no PvP mode available in The First Descendant. Besides maybe competing with other players to complete certain missions or Void Intercept Battles as quickly as possible, there isn’t any head-to-head combat.

The reason for this is quite simple. The First Descendant is built from the ground up as a co-op third-person shooter in the same vein as Warframe and Destiny 2. The team wanted to hone in on that aspect of it, so putting resources into a PvP mode either would’ve heavily delayed the game or worsened other aspects of the game as a result. PvP modes in this style of game don’t tend to fare well either, with Destiny 2’s Crucible community gaining some traction but brutally outnumbered by its PvE community.

This isn’t all to say that PvP will never be added to the game. Nexon one day may announce a new PvP mode where you can properly test your skills. Until they say anything about that, however, it should be assumed that a PvP mode isn’t in the works. If that changes, we’ll be sure to update this article accordingly.
