Minecraft Legends is officially out, and it’s available on nearly any platform you play video games on. Whether you own a PC, Xbox, PlayStation, or even a Nintendo Switch, you can jump into Minecraft Legends today. But what if you want to play Minecraft Legends with friends?

As you may already know, Minecraft Legends is a Strategy game that allows up to eight players to compete against each other. That said, if you don’t necessarily want to face other players, you still can enjoy Minecraft Legends with your friends. Here are the details.

The Minecraft Legends campaign supports four player co-op

The main campaign mode of Minecraft Legends is fully built with co-op play in mind. Up to four players can experience this adventure together, even if you’ve already progressed in your current save file.

Starting a campaign with friends is easy. Simply select your saved game or start a new file, and you’ll be brought to the campaign screen (featured above). Press the button indicated on the bottom right corner of the screen to bring up your friends menu and select the friend you want to play with. Press “Invite” and give your companion some time to accept your request. It’s that easy!

Additionally, you may notice an option under Settings called “Player access.” If this option is set to “Friends,” anyone on your friends list can join your game. Like the above process, all they must do is find you on their friends list and select “Join Game.” No matter which method you choose, you’ll be playing with your best buddies in no time.

This method also works with the “Lost Legends & Myths” mode. Lost Legends offers unique challenges every month, and long story short, you’ll really want friends to help you complete these.  In other words, you can play anything in Minecraft Legends with friends. Just make sure everyone is on each other’s friends list!

Minecraft Legends features cross-platform multiplayer

Additionally, you can still play Minecraft Legends with friends even if you own different consoles. The only stipulation here is that players on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 will be limited to only two player campaign co-op instead of four players. Otherwise, nothing’s stopping you from partying up. Enjoy your time in the world of Minecraft Legends!
