How to start the Yeti hunt in GTA Online

To start the hunt for the Yeti outfit in GTA Online, you’ll need to receive a text from Tanner. However, he’ll only message you once you get close to the search area where the Yeti has been sighted. Set your map marker to Raton Canyon in the northwest of Los Santos, and you’ll be invited to partake in the festive hunt when you’re almost there.

All Yeti outfit clue locations in GTA Online

Once you’ve arrived in Raton Canyon, you’ll need to investigate five clues that indicate there’s a Yeti on the loose. The location of each clue is marked on the map in the screenshot above.

The first clue (the top left marker on the map) is closest to the road, so it’s best to start there. You’ll find a bloodied tent and sleeping bag just off the road. Walk up to the tent and press the right button on the D-Pad to investigate the clue.

When you’ve investigated the scene, you’ll receive a notification and $10,000.

The second clue is east of the first, a little further down the road. It’s the top right marker on the map above. It’s difficult to spot, but there’s a piece of clothing just off the road by an abandoned car. It’s next to the drain pipes that go under the road. You need to investigate the clothing to complete the clue and earn another $10,000.

The third clue is on the other side of the mountainous terrain. It’s the bottom right marker on the map above. You have to investigate an overturned car that’s come to a stop underneath the bridge pictured above. Find the bridge, and you’ll spot the car with no problem. Hop on down there to investigate the car and get another $10,000.

The next two clues will require a little on foot exploration to unlock. You can follow the road most of the way from the third clue down the road to the fourth, which is the bottom middle marker on the map above. But you’ll need to get out of your car to get close enough to it.

You’re looking for the fallen down tree (pictured above) and the dismembered body parts underneath it. Investigate the body parts to complete the clue and get your money.

You can continue on foot from the fourth clue to the last. It’s the bottom left marker on the map close to the river. You’re looking for the dead deer. It’s covered in snow, so it blends into its surroundings. See the picture above for an idea of what to look for.

After completing the fifth investigation, you’ll have earned $50,000, and you’ll be ready to hunt the Yeti.

When to hunt the Yeti in GTA Online

It’s not as simple as just collecting the clues and killing the Yeti. You can only hunt the Yeti at night between the hours of 21:00 and 06:00. Outside of those times, it simply won’t appear. You need to come prepared, too. If the Yeti kills you, there’s a good chance it won’t spawn again until the next night.

When the time is right, a question mark will appear in the middle of the search area, and “Yeti Hunt” will be on your map indicator. To start the hunt, just head into the area during the specified time.

How to kill the Yeti in GTA Online

The Yeti is one tough monster to kill. To put it simply, conventional guns aren’t going to cut it with this beast. You’re going to need a car to outrun it because it’s much faster than you, and you’re going to need a rocket launcher of some kind to get the job done. I used the Homing Rocket Launcher, and it took four direct hits to bring the Yeti to its knees.

If the Yeti catches you, it’s game over. It will knock you down once, and you won’t have time to get back up again. To buy yourself time to escape and set up, knock the Yeti down with your car before getting far enough away, like in the picture above, to blast it sky high.

Once your hunt is complete, the Yeti outfit will be available in your house, and you’ll earn another $50,000, for a total of $100,000 in reward money.
