How to make Mace in Minecraft

Fall with some dignity.

Falling down the many rabbit holes of Minecraft always leaves you feeling embarrassed as all your equipment and levels go down the drain. But now, the tide has changed with the new weapon, Mace, a hammer-like tool with the power to cure Fall Damage. Here’s how to make Mace in Minecraft and what it can be used for.

Minecraft Mace Recipe

The Minecraft Mace recipe requires a Breeze Rod and Heavy Core. Both items can be found in the Trial Chambers but are only available in Version 1.21 SnapShot, Beta, or Preview.

Eliminate the Breeze to obtain a Breeze Rod, which also conjures up Wind Charges (a windy attack). While there, look out for the Heavy Core block in the Trial Chambers. These areas can be challenging to find, but to make things easier, use the command: ‘/locate structure Minecraft: trial_chambers.’ The string provides the nearest coordinates of said structure, which will likely require you to dig down.

To get the Mace faster in Minecraft, enter Creative mode and type it in the Crafting Table search box. If it isn’t there, ensure that the experimental features are on before starting the game (in Data Packs.)

How to use Mace in Minecraft

The best way to use the Mace is to free-fall off an elevated area and hit an enemy just before the drop-down. This method inflicts extra damage, yet it’s not without its risks. Fall Damage will be negated if you can land a gnarly blow; however, one bad move could end your life. So, before diving into the unknown, I suggest taking baby steps by trying out small hills. Maybe it’s not as cool as jumping off a ravine, but you’ll at least have your dignity intact if something goes wrong.

A Knockback effect will also be applied to send the opponent even further into the depths. Some players have tested the Mace’s strength, taking down elite enemies like the Warden. Nevertheless, eliminating these types of foes would probably take a considerable distance of falling.

Can you enchant the Mace in Minecraft?

Although enchantments are available for swords, axes, and bows, they are not accessible with the Mace. I’ve tested the weapon out with the Enchantment Table, all to no avail. It may be due to the tool’s robust falling properties, or the feature simply isn’t ready in the beta. Honestly, the Mace would probably be too overpowered with an enchantment, so it may never be an option.
