There are a lot of mounts in Final Fantasy XIV, and some command more envy than others. One mount, added in Dawntrail, is the Air-Wheeler A-9. This ultra-realistic motorbike is sleek and sure to catch anyone’s attention.
The Air-Wheeler A-9 also transforms, which was something mentioned by director Naoki Yoshida during the Live Letter from the Producer 82, shortly before the release of Dawntrail. When you take flight on the Air-Wheeler A9, the wheels flip outwards, turning the bike into something akin to an oversized drone.
However, in order to get this mount, you’ve got a lot of Dawntrail to get through. The Air-Wheeler A-9 will only become available to purchase once you’ve reached Solution Nine, which unlocks at level 96 after completing a dungeon called Vanguard.
Where to purchase the Air Wheeler A-9 in Final Fantasy XIV
If you want to purchase the Air-Wheeler A-9, you have two choices, and neither of them is cheap.
You could, of course, purchase the Air-Wheeler A-9 Identification Key on the Marketboard, but the price is likely to be incredibly high, especially this early into the release of Dawntrail and the already high purchase price from the ‘official’ vendor.
Otherwise, you’ll need to head to Solution Nine and then make your way to the Nexus Arcade. This is the shopping area of Solution Nine, and here you’ll find the Air-Wheeler Dealer (X:8.4, Y:13.3).
If you’ve got 7.5 million Gil, he’ll be more than happy to take it off your hands in exchange for the Air-Wheeler A-9 mount. This is currently the only item that he sells, but there’s no telling what may be added to his stock in future patches.
