Muava is a character in Breath of the Wild.[1]

Biography[]

Muava is an elderly Gerudo woman who can be found sitting by the Goddess Statue near the Southeast Gate of Gerudo Town.

In her youth, Muava travelled across Hyrule Kingdom, and she was considered to be a beauty by Hylian men.[2] Having heard rumors of Lover's Pond, she searched for it in the hope of finding her true love.[3] However, she never found it, and she eventually became old and was no longer sought after by men.[4]

When Link first approaches Muava, she will begin to greet him, but then she wonders how a man was able to enter Gerudo Town.[5] Link reacts with surprise, and Muava states that while he might be able to fool everyone else in Gerudo Town, she is not so easy.[6] She assures Link that she will not share his secret, since she does not care what he does.[7] Since he came all the way to the Southeast Gate, however, she asks if he would like to talk with her.[8]

If Link asks about the nearby Goddess Statue, Muava tells him that it has been there since before she was born.[9] She explains that nobody visits it anymore because they do not "believe in that stuff anymore," comparing it to how people avoid her now as well.[10] Muava believes that someone needs to keep the Goddess Statue company, which is what she decided to do.[11]

If Link asks Muava if she has ever left Gerudo Town, she recounts her past as a traveler to him.[2] Noticing that Link appears sad, Muava tells him not to be, since it was a long time ago and she chased her dreams.[12]

Muava enjoys talking to Link, commenting that it is nice to speak with a man again.[13] Before Link ends their conversation, Muava advises him to live his life to the fullest.[14] When Link returns to Muava, she refers to him as "Mr. Cute Voe."[15]
