King Charles Posed with New Prime Minister—But Something in the Background of the Photos Caught My Eye

Earlier this week, I wrote about how something felt off with a brand-new royal portrait featuring King Charles, Queen Camilla and Prince William.

And now, another British royal family picture has caught my eye in the best way possible. After historic elections in the U.K., King Charles welcomed the leader of the Labour Party to Buckingham Palace for a meet-and-greet, a photo op and (most importantly) to formally invite him to become the next Prime Minister (a tradition that Queen Camilla also took part in during her reign).

In photos taken of the monarch and new Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the palace, I couldn't help but notice just how many family photos were in the background of the image. The tables were covered with images of many of Charles's family members, including his mother.

And more than that, the new pictures of the two leaders beautifully mirrored those of his mom, Queen Elizabeth, performing the same duty in the same exact location several years back when Boris Johnson become Prime Minister.

The choice of Queen Elizabeth to hold such an important audience in a room filled with personal pictures and memories shows just how much the royals value family. And the fact that King Charles kept his mother's tradition alive—particularly at a time when things in the royal family are strained—is equally as notable.

Other eye-catching images making royal headlines this week? Sarah Ferguson posted an emotional tribute to her great friend, the late Princess Diana, who would have turned 63 this year.

The duchess captioned an Instagram post, "Happy birthday to my dear friend, Diana. You were a pillar of light and love. And what a legacy you have left behind. I will forever remember our laughter and the kindred, kind spirit I found in you. I'm sure you're watching over us always. Rest in peace my friend."

In addition this week, King Charles and Queen Camilla were photographed walking alone and sharing a very sweet, supportive moment. And with so many royal outings (and so few royals to carry them out), it's great to see such a level of support among the family.
