EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings on Friday announced they have signed Dalton Risner to a one-year deal, returning the veteran guard to Minnesota.

In order to make room on the 53-man roster for Risner, the Vikings waived undrafted rookie offensive lineman Matt Cindric.

Risner first joined Minnesota in September 2023 on a one-year deal. He made his Vikings debut on special teams in Week 3 against the Chargers. He participated in similar fashion the next two weeks and was pressed into action at left guard in Week 6 after Ezra Cleveland suffered an injury at Chicago.

The Kansas State product then started the final 11 games of the season for the Vikings, and Minnesota opted to trade Cleveland to Jacksonville for a sixth-round pick. The selection (No. 177 overall) was used by Minnesota to draft tackle Walter Rouse in April.

Risner previously played for Denver from 2019-22, starting all 62 games he appeared in for the Broncos.

Minnesota began its Organized Team Activity practices with versatile veteran Blake Brandel at left guard with the first-team grouping of LT Christian Darrisaw, C Garrett Bradbury, RG Ed Ingram and RT Brian O'Neill. In this week's session that was open to media members, veteran Dan Feeney was in at left guard for some reps with the first group.
