Video gaming subscriptions are becoming increasingly popular in the United States. A May 2023 survey found that Xbox Game Pass was the most popular subscription service, with 13 percent of U.S. gamers stating they had a subscription with Microsoft's service. PlayStation Plus Premium and Nintendo Switch Online were ranked second with a ten percent subscription rate each. Both services are a prerequisite for gamers to access online multiplayer on the respective consoles.
