I get it… you want your URLs crawled and indexed as quickly as possible.

After all, the faster you get them indexed – the faster they will rank, right?

Paying for SEO submission software used to be the best solution for better indexing. But as search engines have advanced, that’s no longer the case.

So I will show you precisely why SEO submission software is a thing of the past, and what you can do instead.

What Is SEO Submission Software?

Search engine submission is when you submit your website to Google so that it can be crawled and indexed.

SEO submission software (also known as search engine submission software”) is designed to do this automatically for you.

You should submit your URLs to Google every time you create a new page or post on your site so that Google knows to crawl the page and index.

This is the fastest way to get your new page/post ranked in the search results.

SEO submission software can automate this for you, so you don’t need to worry about it.

It all makes sense, right?

But here’s the problem:

Search engine submission software has become a thing of the past. If you are paying for search engine submission, you are throwing money down the drain.

Search engines have evolved and so has the way to submit URLs to Google.

Why You Don’t Need Any SEO Submission Software

Search engines are getting smarter and smarter.

Lots of the manual tasks that SEOs used to do have now been automated by the search engines themselves.

These are the 2 main reasons you no longer need search engine submission software.

1. SEO Submission Software Is No Longer Useful

In the past, it was harder to get Google to index your website.

You often had to rely on software configured to integrate with Google Webmaster Tools using API access.

In other words, unless you were a developer, submitting your website to Google wasn’t that simple.

But now we have Google Search Console.

google search console

Google wants the most accurate version of your website. That means they also want to know whenever you update your website.

So what did Google do?

They provided the SEO toolkit to get it done. You can manually:

  • Submit individual URLs
  • Add your XML sitemap

…and have Google crawl that automatically.

There is no need to pay for search engine submission software anymore.

2. Search Engines Can Find Your Site Naturally

Google has the most sophisticated SEO spider on the planet.

It uses trillions of links all over the web to crawl the entire internet by itself. In fact, Google crawls over 8.5 million web pages every single day.

how a crawler works

Just think about that for a moment!

The truth is that a search engine like Google doesn’t really need your help.

On average, Google will crawl your site naturally every 2-4 weeks. So, if you never told Google about any updates to your site, it will likely find and crawl it naturally.

Search engines (such as Bing, Google, etc) have become advanced enough where SEO submission software has become:

  • Completely irrelevant
  • Just a waste of money

What If The Search Engines Don’t Find Your Site/Content?

Google is good… But it isn’t perfect.

Sometimes it will miss URLs and occasionally take a long-time to index a new site.

If you want to get your site indexed immediately or be absolutely sure that your website is being crawled, you can take matters into your own hands.

Submit Your URLs Manually To Google

Want to manually submit your URLs to Google?

There are 2x methods:

  1. Add your XML sitemap – You can use this method when you want Google to automatically find each URL on your website.
  2. Submit individual URLs – You can use this method when you want to get a new page indexed quickly or tell Google you have made an update to one of your pages.

So keep reading to see how to use both techniques.

1. Add You XML Sitemap

First, you need to find your XML sitemap.

Most websites automatically generate a sitemap. You just need to know where to look.

The easiest way to find your sitemap is simply through trial and error. Type your domain into a browser and add the following endings:

  • /sitemap
  • /sitemap.xml
  • /sitemap_index.xml

For example:

https://www.searchlogistics.com/sitemap_index.xml

xml sitemap

Different websites have different sitemap URLs. In most cases, it will be one of these.

Note: If you don’t have a sitemap you can use a free tool like RankMath to create one.

Now that you have your XML sitemap, it’s time to submit it to Google. To do so, head over to your Google Search Console account and click on “Sitemaps”.

google search console sitemaps

Past your sitemap link and click “Submit”.

That’s it! You’ll see the word “Success” under status if it was successful.

Google will use your sitemap as a “map” to all your pages for crawling and indexing.

2. Submit Individual URLs

What if you want a specific URL indexed right now?

You’ll need to request a crawl from Google. To do so, log in to Google Search Console and click “URL Inspection” on the left side.

Paste in the URL that you want to crawl and hit “enter”.

Finally, just click “Request Indexing”.

Google will get to work and your page should be crawled and indexed within a few hours.

Remember:

Submitting individual web pages is not only for when you create new pages. You can use this tool whenever you make changes to any page on your site.
