John Anderson Wall Street Journal The action, so to speak, has taken place in the mind of the subject and all the archival material in the world isn’t going to make it cinematic. Where “Mastermind” really picks up momentum, though, is in episode 3. Kate C For anyone who liked Mindhunter (RIP), this show centers around Ann Burgess, the real-life inspiration for the character Wendy. A true crime show centered around Burgess is LONG overdue, and I'm thrilled that this one does her justice. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/12/24 Full Review Bob V Inspiring! I love to see people persevere against the "norms" of societal expectations especially with the passion that Ann had/has for helping victims. The production is well done, oscillating between the personal impact on Anns personal life with the horrors what she sees and hears as a part of her work.
