The Last Airbender squanders its popular source material with incomprehensible plotting, horrible acting, and detached joyless direction.

Sukhdev Sandhu Daily Telegraph (UK) A quite breathtakingly inept hodge-podge of vapid spirituality, playground chopsocky and visual effects that take 3D to an entirely new level: Zero-D. Rated: 1/5 Jul 18, 2014 Full Review Jim Schembri The Age (Australia) This empty, misfired epic from M. Night Shyamalan is boring and strengthens the claim that he is the worst director working in mainstream cinema today. Rated: 1/5 Sep 16, 2010 Full Review David Sexton London Evening Standard How did Shyamalan get it so wrong? Rated: 1/5 Aug 19, 2010 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review The Last Airbender plays like it should be the work of a low-grade hack with little-to-no experience behind the camera, but instead, it’s by a director who not so long ago was praised as one of today’s finest new storytellers. Rated: 1/4 Aug 18, 2023 Full Review Rene Jordan El Nuevo Herald (Miami) Visually catastrophic. [Full review in Spanish] Oct 19, 2022 Full Review Andrea Hubert NME (New Musical Express) Time was, the endings of M.Night Shyamalan films were always the biggest mystery. Now, the only mystery remaining is how, in a recession, he continues to get studios to fund his films. Rated: 2/5 May 19, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Lucas t Good CG, decent acting, but the casting and plot is just all over the place. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 06/27/24 Full Review will e this movie was so bad it made me want to stick a fork in an electrical socket the main characters name wernt even pronounced correctly Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/21/24 Full Review Shawn W Way better than that garbage show it’s based off of that’s just all filler at least this movie is only about 2 hours of garbage compared to 3 seasons of garbage. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/17/24 Full Review Derrick D One of the most financially wasted execution of CGI from a movie of this scale. The lighting is terrible at times, the acting is subpar and the choreography is ok at best. Putting a dude who's almost twice the age of his character killed it for me especially considering that his best known role prior to acting here is acting as the silent vampire from Twilight. As for a fan's perspective, this somehow manages to make Db Evolution seem watchable in comparison. The elements need to be grabbed in order to use and majority of the characters are represented in a way that feels more offensive than poor casting. Like the fire Nation are turned into mostly darker skin individuals and the water tribe into whiter ones when the show depicted it in reverse. I honestly can't find anything I like from this movie, and that's considering the fact of me trying desperately to find a positive. This is the movie to watch when you want to find another movie to add to your top 10 worst movies of all time Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/16/24 Full Review Niamh M i managed to make it through 43 minutes of this before i gave up and i dont think ive ever done anything harder Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/15/24 Full Review Sheena L Always someone has to have a really sour look on movies. I really am tired of critics. They don't speak for me... I watched all of the Avatar series plus the one about Korra. I loved this movie. I wish they had continued and completed the sequels. Now they have the remake and that is completely disappointing. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/10/24 Full Review Read all reviews
