Shift Up’s shooter RPG Goddess of Victory: Nikke is on the verge of its "biggest minigame ever" with an upcoming Dave the Diver crossover on July 4th.

The collab will bring deep-sea diving and exploration in pixel-graphics form to Nikke in what will be its own fully fledged game mode - a recreation of Dave the Diver, the console and PC/Mac game, which will be making its way to mobile for the first time.

Not so "mini"

In the new event, Nikke players will explore beneath the waves, gather ingredients, and catch plenty of fish for the game's resident chef, Blancho. Dave the Diver, by developer, Mintrocket combines action-adventure and management gameplay styles as players explore the deep sea gathering ingredients to serve at the sushi restaurant, while encountering and battling with sharks.

While Dave the Diver’s titular character won’t be playable, the event will feature Nikke characters Mast and Anchor wearing scuba gear and the latter can be obtained as a log-in reward. There’s also a Nikke Armoury with unlockable weapons to be obtained by meeting certain requirements, such as exploring underwater a certain number of times.

The event will run for a limited time and give Nikke fans a taste of Dave the Diver’s gameplay, although they’ll have to move to PC or console in order to play Mintrocket’s title in full.

Mintrocket is a subsidiary of South Korean games publisher Nexon revealed publicly in May 2022. The developer launched Dave the Diver in early access later that year and reached full release in 2023, finding commercial success with the title.

Representation of this relatively new IP within Goddess of Victory: Nikke speaks to that success, joining the likes of NieR Automata, Re:ZERO, and Chainsaw Man as previous crossover titles.

And for Nikke developer Shift Up, Dave the Diver’s appearance marks yet another collaboration in its popular shooter, as the game has safely surfed past the $750 million revenue milestone on mobile alone.
