Lars Norpchen joined the game industry in 1989 as a tester for Spectrum Holobyte. He became a programmer in 1989. He left in 1991 to develop games for the Sega Genesis and do freelance work, including some support for Maxis titles. He joined Walt Disney Imagineering in 1992 and developed interactive theme park attractions. In 1995 he joined the started Total Entertainment Network (TEN), an online gaming service. In 1997 he rejoined Disney managing PC based attraction development for DisneyQuest, a series of location based entertainment centers. In 2001 he and Sparky formed Octopus Motor to develop independent PC games.
