NOLA Is Burning

In this noir game, the player, a gangland enforcer or "headcrusher", is sent on one last dangerous mission across modern-day New Orleans by their mob boss, The Bull. Gangland rival The Pitt, the Bull's brother, has kidnapped The Bull's spouse (and the player's secret lover), and the player has until sunrise to effect a rescue. Nothing will be simple about traversing the Big Easy, as the player needs to contend with interference from Jimmy Malone and the local constabulary as well as the gutterpunk street soldiers of rival triad leader The Dragon. Aid of a sort is at hand from Voodoo initiates Ruby and Coco the Creole Gator Girls and the drug-addicted minister at the St. Louis Cathedral, but by and large the player needs to penetrate The Pitt's inner sanctum, the upscale peeler bar Girls Girls Girls, using nothing but a bundle of juice and their trusty sawtooth. Along the way they'll need to face their greatest fear and bounce back from a defeat of abject hopelessness. And of course, even if The Pitt is finally dealt with, there are still dangerous points remaining on a certain love triangle.

Gameplay is handled according to the Choice of Games standard, with player input gathered through their selection from options presented and output in the form of substantial quantities of adaptive text.
