LEGO Studios: Backlot

LEGO Studios: Backlot is a 3D adventure game based on the Studios line of LEGO toys. The player assumes the role of a minifigure who visits the backlot of the fictional LEGO Studios in the hope of getting a job in the movie industry. The aim of the game is to rise through the ranks of the movie business until the player achieves the role of director. The backlot is filled with characters who are willing to help the player achieve this goal, as long as they get some help in return.

The first quest opportunity the player receives is from movie star Johnny Thunder, who has lost his hat, binoculars, and pistol prop, which the player must find and return to earn his favor. Fortunately, the player is equipped with a backpack that can be used to store items, such quest items and a map of the backlot to help them navigate the game world. Some parts of the backlot are locked until the player completes certain quests, while others require platforming skills to reach.
