Overview edit · view history

GameBank Corp., founded in 1995, is a Japanese venture between software maker Microsoft (40%) and Softbank Corp. (60%). It was established to develop and market game software for personal computers, because Microsoft wanted to market the Windows 95 operating system as the ideal platform for computer games. The company does not develop its own games, instead it acts as a "translator" of existing games written for DOS-based machines, home video consoles and arcade machines. GameBank markets, sells, distributes and supports games.

The company signed developers such as Capcom Co., Namco Ltd., Bandai Co. Ltd., SNK Corp. and Takara Ltd.
