The last two weeks have been incredible. Toronto continues to shine as a vibrant hub for innovation in the video game and creative tech sectors, and 2024 has already proven to be an exceptional year for our city's talent and creativity. This year saw the clustering of XP Summit, Toronto Games Week, Interactive Ontario’s Impact Forum, and the IO Connect Summer Mixer (which also served as the closing night party or XP and the opening party for Toronto Games Week), followed up closely by the Collision conference. Each of these events provided opportunities to network, develop new business opportunities, learn about and experience a wide range of truly creative and diverse video game products developed right here in Toronto. These impactful initiatives help Toronto to continue to be at the forefront of video game development, which, in 2024 has already included claimed an impressive 7 out of 8 GDC Best In Play awards and Ontario has secured 7 out of 9 Canadian Screen IDM Awards (most based in Toronto). These victories underscore Toronto's status as a leader in the global gaming landscape. As we look ahead, the momentum and growth in our city's creative tech scene are truly exhilarating. Toronto not only nurtures groundbreaking innovations but also champions diversity and collaboration, making it an ideal environment for creative minds to thrive.
