Writing shaders made a lot more sense to me than using a node based shader editor. "NORMAL_MAP = vec3(0,10);" Really helps with foliage in an isometric style, especially if it's moving and is lit by a dynamic light source. it helps keep the lighting consistent and avoids back face discoloration.

Originally our bug hunting game was meant to have a small hub with larger levels the player can teleport to. However, upon further consideration, we realized it would be better to just make a large open overworld with different biomes. 9 days left before submitting this project to #gamejam #godot.

I’m happy to share a free game called "Abandonware" that was submitted on Itch.io for the "32bit Eclipse Game Jam 2024". This is a technical demo of a 2D immersive sim concept my friends and I came up with. All assets were made by me. https://lnkd.in/gxW2ZFaz

This is great Insight for employers and employees regarding international outlooks.
“I’m too afraid to hire international workers. They all need sponsorship.” While this statement may sometimes be true, too many employers are overly scared of our broken H1b system to give international students a chance. A few things make the program a little less scary than these folks believe. The first is that USCIS changed the H1b lottery a few years back. Formerly, the employer had to prepare an entire H1b submission before finding out if the employee had been selected in the lottery. Now, the lottery is conducted before the employer, the lawyer and the employee have to do all that leg work of putting a case together. (This is one of the few changes at USCIS during the Trump years that made good sense). But the bigger reason that employers should be more willing to try and work with graduating international students on F1 visas is the Optional Practical Training program. OPT allows international students who graduate from a U.S. college or university to work full time for an entire year after graduation. OPT should be more attractive to employers for several reasons. The employer sets the salary (unlike under the H1b where the employer has to research and promise to pay the prevailing wage). There is no lottery. An employer can hire as many OPT students as they like. If the student’s degree is in a STEM field, they can obtain an additional two years of OPT, thereby allowing the employee to work a total of three years in the program. From the student’s perspective, OPT is a solid bridge between student status and a work visa. I call that a win-win. #employer #internationalstudent #internationalworker #opt #optionalpracticaltraining #work #H1b
