It was inevitable. It was a longtime coming. The signs have been clear for years. But the official notice is still very sad to hear. I held out hope, against all odds and my better judgement, that somehow it could evolve, be nursed back to health and regain relevancy. E3 established the greatest week of the games industry from the day it was born in ‘95. As a 22-time attendee, I can confidently say that in its prime it was a legendary experience from both a business and consumer perspective. It will be sorely missed, but glowingly remembered.

Excited to share that our new VR game, 💥Crossfire: Sierra Squad💥, was the #1 downloaded PlayStation VR2 game in the US, Canada and Europe in September, according to Sony! And on top of that, we took home the Grand Winner trophy for “Sony PlayStation Game – AR/VR” at the NYX Game Awards as well! Happy National Video Games Day! In honor of this special occasion, I snapped this photo at the Strong Museum Video Game Hall of Fame while visiting last summer. It’s an actual “E.T.” cartridge for the Atari 2600 console, dug up from the long-rumored dump in Alamogordo, New Mexico, and on display in front of me. If you’re unfamiliar with the story, catch up here: https://lnkd.in/gB_49i7Q This is an archaeological treasure of video game history in the highest degree that would make Indiana Jones (or at least Pitfall Harry) jealous. It’s noteworthy for so many reasons, a cautionary tale within a parable wrapped in a scandal buried in the desert. Priceless! #nationalvideogamesday

And we have launch! It's been almost exactly one year to the day since I first met SH (seunghwoe) Kim and Sam Lee at gamescom 2022 in Köln to discuss the game that we have partnered on tirelessly ever since and launched, finally, today -- Crossfire: Sierra Squad! Huge props to Lee Sangkyoon (Kay), the dev, business and PR teams at Smilegate, the Marketing and LiveOps teams at Smilegate West, and our partners at PlayStation, Valve corporation, Ayzenberg and fortyseven communications. It has been a fantastic journey so far, and the friends and connections that have been made during the effort will last a lifetime. Virtual reality is a super exciting tech, but still a tech in its infancy. This year it's being pushed further into gaming adoption by innovations such as the PlayStation VR2. I feel like we are helping push this entertainment technology further in our own way with the release of this game, which by all measures feels to me like the next tier of VR games that not only shows off the innovative features of the VR2, but also provides a glimpse of where VR games can go in the not-too-distant future. I hope we help raise the benchmark for others to aim for and contribute to advancing this exciting genre. If you grab a copy at the PlayStation Store or Steam Store, let me know your thoughts! An impressive few days at PlayStation Partner Connect has wrapped! It was so great to speak with all the teams together in one place, get some actionable insights on the PS market, and also spend some quality IRL time with industry peers.
