(Simulation / Big day) After nearly 6 years at Epic Games, launching and leading our Simulation industries activities for Unreal Engine, I am proud to witness the impact we've made with Alban, Mark, Danny, and Walt. The simulation community now understands that #UnrealEngine offers a novel and efficient way to build simulation solutions faster. Through countless conversations and deep exchanges with the simulation community, many trends emerged, and challenges crystallized. It became clear that having access to the best engine (yes, that's #UE) and a digital twin pipeline is not enough for end users to train humans or robots. You also need to be able to tell a story in these super-realistic environments, propose experiment scenarios, or establish training exercises easily. Recent commercial technologies, especially AI, have ushered in a new software era, yet they remain underutilized by traditional simulator makers. Aligning vision, understanding, and focus within the simulation community, alongside openness to standards and a commitment to innovation, is neither easy nor common within these players of the ecosystem. I have decided to dedicate the coming years to building this bridge between commercial innovative technologies and the simulation community's end users. This journey will continue outside of Epic Games, and my last day as the Unreal Engine Industry Director for Simulation is today. It has been very inspiring to witness Tim Sweeney's vision and business fairness. I am deeply grateful for the confidence Marc Petit and Sébastien Miglio placed in me to build the simulation industry ecosystem for Epic Games. To all my friends at Epic, thank you for the incredible exchanges and your unparalleled skills. I suspect we will collaborate again in my new role. More details to come on Monday. #Simulation #AI #BridgingGaps #GoStandards #NextGen #MakingThingsEasierForSimulationEndUsers (Picture "Man and his kite" just for fun and remembering UE famous "Boy and his kite" demo and our motto "if you love something set it free")

Thanks my friend for all that you have done for the Simulation Industry and for Epic Games. We'll indeed miss you, but as you said, UE is still the best Game Engine in the world, and we'll go on supporting its usage as a platform for any kind of simulators. I'm pretty sure you'll need it at some point to make your new dream come true! 😉 You trained us well during this time together, and so Mark Collins , Walt Yates, Nikola Jancovicova, the future TAM to come and I will be able to take over, with all the support from the Epic Games engineering team! Enjoy your new job, and keep in touch!

Congrats on all you and the team achieved bringing Unreal Engine to the simulation community. Cesium and the geospatial community are grateful to you for being the catalyst for Cesium for Unreal Engine, and then an authentic champion and transparent partner for the last 5 years. I still fondly remember our first conversation at ITSEC that led to the Cesium UE plugin. Your enthusiasm is infection and your impact, both direct and indirect, has advanced our field while also making it a fun place to work. Wishing you the best of luck in your new adventure on a much needed bridge and looking forward to collaborating with you in your new capacity.

Man, I've never ever witnessed anybody more passionate and on fire while pursuing the aspirations and potential for UE in simulation. You, Seb, are such an inspiring human being beyond comprehension. Thanks for everything I've had the privilege to absorb from your full package of knowledge. I can't wait to see what the future holds for you and the "tech bridge" you're mentioning above. Hugs & love and break a leg in your new role! ❤️🧡

You have succeeded in making the simulation industry understand that new technologies can take simulation and training to a new level of fidelity and immersion. Simulation will no longer be seen as being linked to outdated technologies. You and the Epic simulation team have all helped us, technology enthusiasts, to create incredible products. I am confident that your impact on our field will continue to grow in the next chapter of your career. I wish you the best!

hello. Sebastian. That's unfortunate and welcome news. I've been using the ecosystem you've created on your journey to produce some unbelievable output. You'll be able to see the results at Unreal Fest and I/ITSEC this year, and I hope we get a chance to meet up. In the meantime, I admire your dedication and hard work. Your journey has created an ecosystem that is taking root in a small country in East Asia. See you again, and thank you.

My friend you'd be missed a lot! I wish you all the best for what you set your eyes on next to achieve. And kudos to you for setting up the simulation industry so well at Epic. I'm certain our paths will cross again soon!!

Congratulations on the new role Seb! It's been an incredible experience working with you, Danny, Alban, and many others from Epic over the past few years. You've introduced me to some of the most interesting and wonderful people across the industry. I've looked up to Epic games ever since I was a kid, as Unreal Engine 2 (UT2004) was what got me into computer programming and game development at a young age. When I first started my career at Boeing, I was just a naive kid with big dreams -- and I may still be. Yet, after meeting you and working with you, many of my dreams have come true. You've always been a huge supporter of me and our team. Not only have you built an incredible career for yourself, a fantastic community and network, but you've inspired many young people along the way. In-turn your work at Epic, and your efforts as a friend and mentor, will have inspired many future generations of engineers and game developers. We're all proud of you. Best of luck in your new role, and I'm looking forward to keeping my eye on your efforts with BAE.
