I’ve been to a huge number of events organised by my team but I’ve never been to one where the speaker gets a standing ovation from the audience… until last night. But last night’s Anthony Howitt lecture wasn’t like any other event we’ve held before. Delivered by Baroness Floella Benjamin on the topic of social mobility - she spoke of the challenges and prejudices she faced growing up in South East London and the challenges that those from deprived backgrounds continue to face today. Held at the stunning BMA house, it will be one of the events I always remember. None of it would have been possible without all the hard work from Kiera Greenwood.
