By far the most valuable piece of advice I’ve received comes in the form of this quote: “Measure Twice, Cut Once.” My grandfather used to always say that to me. It’s about really putting in the necessary work in the forefront so you can be proud of the results at the end.    There’s no need to rush anything, whether it be a project deadline, last-minute hiring decisions, or your intuition. Take a deep breath, dot your i’s, cross your t’s, and put in the elbow grease to get it done. No cutting corners! What’s one area in your life or work where you can apply this principle this week? Big, Hairy, Audacious Goal. What’s your Big, Hairy, Audacious Goal? You know, the one you told yourself you could dream about when your kids finish this school and go to the next one or leave for uni. The one you told yourself you don’t have money and time for, you’re drowning in bills and 12-hour days. The one you told yourself would take too long, as you would have to go back to uni/do a long-term course to get qualified for. The one you think your parent would disapprove of, you hear their voice in your head – ‘You want to do what? Don’t be stupid'. That one. You need – Time to think about this goal, clarify it, work through your fears of what would happen if you achieved it, and give yourself permission to go after it.
