On Juneteenth, we commemorate the end of slavery in the United States and celebrate the rich contributions, culture, and history of Black Americans.

This is how little Leadership at MS knows about Juneteenth and to post this shows more ignorance on their behalf. MS leadership cares and knows so little about African American history. Most of the leadership is very out of touch with African American. An example, they refer to these forums or committees as the "Black people forum ,etc". Where as Fortune 500 Employers refer to their internal forums as African American Forum, etc. So a little history if you will. It was on June 19, 1865, when Major General Gordon Granger ordered the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas at the end of the American Civil War. This was not when the entire U.S was informed, only Texas. This is why Juneteenth has been celebrated in Texas long before it became a National Holiday.
