Celebrate small wins We were celebrating one of our team member’s 1st anniversary. The team took a quick break to chill a bit and reminiscing when she came aboard last year. Except for 1 more team member who will only be celebrating hers next year, others had celebrated theirs this year (the 1st anniversary) i.e. we can say it’s also the team’s anniversary. We may have yet to achieved what was targeted when setting up the team but the fact we had started the process even though baby step, it’s something to be proud off. On top of that, we have also been exploring new opportunities and along the way had made / paving the way for new collaborations and partnerships. Celebrating small wins is about recognizing the importance of the moment and acknowledging the effort to accomplish it. As they say, it’s always the little things that matter. This feeling of accomplishment can give us the motivation to move forward and stay on track. The celebration does not mean we have to splurge on things; the most important message is the recognition of the accomplishment. Hence the donut. (Hopefully that clarify and accepted by the team 🙈 ) #marniqbersatu #ndtinspection #droneinspection #rbistudy #cuimonitoring #fenderrental #training

How do you support your team to grow and develop when there is no hierarchical ladder to climb? As a leader, this is one of my biggest challenges. I want my team to feel fulfilled and to achieve personal growth but as a small business with no management structure this isn't as simple as becoming a Senior this or Head of that. Yes we can offer skills development. They can become even better at delivering great UX insight and accessibility services. But what about other growth areas? The relationships we have? How they feel about themselves? Yesterday, we all stepped out of our comfort zones and with the help of the amazing Sammy Burt explored our development edges. For me, I've learnt how much value I put in productivity. I pride myself on getting stuff done and producing an output, a report, something that shows what I've been doing with my time. But there is also value in taking time to step back and review our long term marketing strategy. To invest in the relationships I have with our clients. To spend time with my family. And I don't need to feel guilty about any of that. And that feels like growth. While there is a way to go, learning that growth can take many different forms feels like a great achievement. Whether it's learning a new skill, experiencing a mindset shift or nurturing a new relationship I hope the team all find something that brings them fulfilment. We’ve had such an amazing team week! Welcoming @alicegreenman back from mat leave and feeling the support from @lucycollins via a day with @sammyburt investing in our growth! #TeamGoals! 😊 Lucy Collins Sophie Knight Alice Greenman Ken Groom Kate Morris Sammy Burt

Life at Gartner in 1 day: Character Strengths trainings as well as belated birthday celebrations: Life at Gartner is positively challenging and insightful on a daily basis.
Yesterday was a great example of how to create “moment that matters at work”. Self-awareness is the key to success, knowing your teammates strengths is the key to winning as a team. Thank you Alla Shoman for organizing this great team activity on “character strengths”. I would also like to thank my team for their efforts in making my birthday memorable this year. #momentthatmatters #lifeatgartner

As we enter the holiday season, this is a great reminder to be thankful. Start this in your team and tell them how thankful you are for what they bring to the team. Don't just focus on the work, tell them what they individually bring. When people feel valued and appreciated they operate completely differently. Once you can build that you will see who you really have on your team
