B2B lead generation takes time, patience and some planning As an agency, I know this only too well. SEO and Personal Branding What has one got to do with the other, you may wonder? Search engines prioritise first-hand knowledge, experience and authority so personal branding can be a competitive advantage for startups, small businesses and individuals. It’s also helpful for cultivating new opportunities. Being seen as a trustworthy expert in your field can be the key to cutting through the noise and standing out. In the past, effective SEO for a startup or small business was about technical expertise in optimising a given website, keyword strategy and backlinks. Hence shady tactics of buying loads of cheap backlinks from questionable directories and websites was born (and is still being practised today) Google has since paid a lot more attention to making sure only helpful content is being served up to people who search for them. Not only that, Google is paying attention to those who present themselves and are widely seen as an authority in their own field. Part of this is how we package our own brand. It's happening again😒😡 Just received a call from a French number from someone asking for a job Scam - luckily she hasn't paid the fraudsters any money this time Others have fallen for it, sadly This is one of many distressing whatsapps, email, LinkedIn messages and calls I've received this year. All of them are French speaking job hunters, and all asking for that job from MarketingTech which was never advertised by us. I've even been alerted to the fact someone has registered a company with the HMRC, and guess what it's called? MarketingTech. My logo, MarketingTech is a trademarked brand but it isn't my registered business name with the HMRC. What can I do? I'm not entirely sure, but... I've setup a popup alert for first time visitors on my website with the image below 👇👇👇 I'm posting this on LinkedIn and other socials in the hope more people will see it, comment and share it to help anyone who needs to see this.
