What a wise thought, social skills at its best.
"I heard my mother asking the neighbors for salt." But we had salt in the house. I asked her why she was asking the neighbors for salt. And she answered me: —Because our neighbors don't have a lot of money and often they ask us for something. From time to time, I also ask them for something small and inexpensive, so that they feel that we need them too. This way they will feel more comfortable and easier for them to keep asking us for everything they need." Respect for human dignity is undoubtedly one of the noblest feelings. And that's exactly what I learned from my parents... Let's build empathetic, humble, supportive children and other values to be valued..!!!…" - Courtesy: Fatima Anfig

Much of our work at Diversity Recruiters is about working with white dominant orgs or white leaders who are looking to diversify leadership teams. The first step for white leaders is to check your whiteness. You cannot skip this step.
White folx in my network - seek out ways to unlearn and relearn. I recommend Seattle Works white caucus cohort. I started this journey before I had the words. Circa 2014…doing anti-racism work…going it alone as a white person, and that was a bad idea. Fast forward to today and I have a community of practioners that support and challenge me. Thank you Shona Kerrick and Amanda Brown

If we can end homelessness in 10 years, we can end #youth disconnection too. We need targeted strategies for different populations, short and long term. #behavioralhealth support will come to be seen as a job readiness intervention. Youth #workforcedevelopment training is an #economicdevelopment strategy.
Headed into the new week with this on my mind. We need a comprehensive approach to supporting these 119,000 young people in Connecticut. For more info, visit: https://lnkd.in/eGjqFT5t

Brand and marketing strategy, team and organisational development, creation of mathetical learning spaces that are designed to develop people's individual potential.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲! #HerbieHancock explains a touching moment of #mathetical mentorship in this impressive anecdote about #MilesDavis. When Hancock made a 'mistake' during a joint concert, Davis did not criticise him, but embraced the essence of the moment. This is an example of mathetics, where learning goes beyond right or wrong. Decades later, Hancock still fondly recalls this lesson, which emphasises the transformative power of empathy and acceptance in learning. This mathetics approach continues also in AleX Deutsch's 'Räume für Träume' (Rooms for Dreams) in #Vienna where children's musical learning thrives in a judgement-free environment. In both cases, the emphasis is on understanding and growth rather than simply correctness. It's time to say goodbye to #didactics in our school system! This focusses exclusively on right and wrong. This approach hinders the development of important skills that are needed in today's world, such as the unconditional utilisation of people's own inner potential. https://lnkd.in/dSV8xjf3
